A screencap from baby cam footage shows a man who snuck into a Layton home Monday, May 14, where a woman and child were sleeping.
LAYTON — Police are looking for a man who snuck into a Layton home and exposed himself in a bedroom where a woman and a baby were sleeping.
At 3:40 a.m. Monday, May 14, a baby camera captured footage of a man walking around a master bedroom at a home near 2500 East and 200 South in Layton, the Layton Police Department said in a Facebook post. The footage showed the man “exposing himself and standing next to the bed and crib where a woman and her baby slept,” police said.
Other adults were asleep in the home, but no one woke up while the suspect in the home, Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman said in a news release.
Lyman said the husband thought someone might’ve been in the home after noticing some lights off and that items in the home were out of place. Nothing has been reported as stolen.
Brief footage captured from the camera was posted to Layton Police’s Facebook page to help identify the suspect.
The man was wearing dark jeans, slip on shoes, a light, multicolored sweatshirt and a wedding band, police said. He appears to be thin and was carrying an iPhone with a case showing the Apple logo through a cut-out.
